As an Offshore Chemist you will be required to perform sampling and analysis to recognised Client standard methods and documented procedures. You will be required to deliver consistently high standards of analytical performance and ensure smooth and continued operation of the laboratory.

Key Accountabilities

  • Demonstrate compliance to all test methods, procedures, and quality systems essential criteria essential for best practices.
  • Liaise with line manager/ on shore support/ if a problem with equipment, methods or samples occurs and initiate corrective actions to ensure continuity of service. 
  • Ensure adequate stock of consumables to ensure continuous productivity.
  • Ensure testing equipment is calibrated and safe/ suitable for use.
  • Completion of daily, weekly, and monthly routine sampling, analysis and reporting as per client procedures.
  • Liaison with SGS onshore support.
  • Maintain organised and auditable systems of work to permit traceability and ensure compliance.
  • Resolution of enquiries in a timely and effective manner to ensure consistency of service delivery and agreed contractual obligations.
  • Provision of reports to line manager/ on shore support/ to assist in service, standards and delivery.

Qualifications

How to be a successful candidate:

To be successful in this role, you’ll need experience in the off-shore oil industry with a knowledge of chemistry, analytical equipment and methods. You must have a detailed knowledge of international analytical standards and operational procedures with the ability to meet client demands. 

In addition to the above you’ll also need to demonstrate the following;

  • Offshore experience essential
  • FPSO experience desirable
  • Mercury analysis desirable
