Job Description

The IT Project Manager (LIMS) manages and oversees all aspects of technology projects related to Operations to ensure it is completed on-time and within budget. They have overall responsibility for managing scope, cost, schedule, internal staffing and outside vendors, and contractual deliverables for multiple projects at one time.

  • Manage SGS LIMS implementation utilizing standard project management practices such as project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to schedule. 
  • Work with SGS sites to assess site readiness and identify gaps using the North America pre-flight process. 
  • Partner with Global Rollout team to support project kick-off activities, including coordination of demos, initial data collection, and stakeholder management.
  • Manage detailed requirements gathering process in partnership with Site Lab Manager and Super User(s) 
  • Identify and manage risks and mitigation plans 
  • Develop change management plan with local lab process owner
  • Develop cutover plan in collaboration with site leadership
  • Develop communication plans
  • Manage testing and validation plans   
  • Develop training plan and partner with Global rollout team and local lab to deliver training, including “train-the –trainer" activities and end-user training
  • Coordinate technical support activities with IT (e.g., network, hardware, etc.)
  • Assist SGS lab personnel with resource provisioning so that adequate staffing is in place to support critical project activities on schedule.
  • Report project status and progress to SGS North America Program Manager on a bi-weekly basis. 
  • Escalate risks and concerns to SGS North America Program Manager, Steerco, and/or Global Rollout as needed to keep project deliverables on schedule
  • Manages the entire technical project lifecycle including needs analysis and initiation, gathering, and defining project requirements, plans, budget and schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Frequently collaborates with business customers and functional peer groups.
  • Assesses current processes, documents desired outcomes, and develops recommendations to improve efficiency and organizational agility.
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science or in a related discipline (Required)
  • 5+ years of technical experience with hands-on IT infrastructure or software development experience (Required)
  • Agile, Waterfall project management methodology experience (Required)
  • Technology training (Preferred)
  • Hands on experience with project tracking software (Preferred)
  • Experience in Lab Environment and working with LIMS software (Preferred)
  • Experience with G6 LIMS (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of Oil, Gas and Chemical Lab environment (preferred)
     

Licenses and Certifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Technology certifications (Required)

Computer Skills

  • Proficient in office productivity software, Word, Excel, PPT, Project, Visio, etc.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Experience documenting business requirements, business rule definition and process mapping
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle process
  • Working knowledge of MS operating systems and applications
  • Understanding concepts of Database and Application architecture
  • Business Process and Workflow Design

  • Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience and business concepts to a technical audience
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills

Salary $75000 - $95000 USD based on experience 

Annual Incentive Plan: You will be eligible to participate in the Company’s Annual Incentive Program and receive an bonus (percent varies based on business/company metrics). Additional information will be provided during offer presentation. 

In addition, your compensation package includes the following benefits:
