Sustainable Textile Expert / Specialist 100%
(part time home office possible)

Job Description

Major Responsibilities

  • Be the expert for production processes in the textile industry
  • Be the expert for sustainability and EHS aspects in the textile industry
  • Contribute to the development of the bluesign® CRITERIA
  • Give expert advice and support to our system partners
  • Conduct external and internal trainings and webinars
  • Develop and maintain training and knowledge documents
  • Be the subject matter expert (SME) to development e-learnings with our training manager
  • Develop new services to raise the value of the bluesign® SYSTEM and the bluesign® ACADEMY
  • Networking with relevant stakeholders from associations, NGOs, academia

Ideal Profile

  • Technical degree, textile related (e.g. Msc textile engineer, mechanical engineer)
  • Proven experience (ideally > 10 years) in the field of textile manufacturing
  • Having expert knowledge in the area EHS (Environment, Health and Safety)
  • Having in depth knowledge of impacts caused by the textile (e.g. Carbon/water/chemical footprint, air/water emission)
  • Being well connected with relevant industry organizations (e.g. Transformers foundation, Textile Exchange, AFIRM)
  • Having a good understanding of the sustainability label landscape
  • Having profound knowledge of regulatory requirements related to chemicals in the textile industry (e.g. REACh, POPs, Prop 65 regulation)
  • Being passionate about sustainable development and education
  • Being able to study new subjects in the quickly developing field of sustainability and extract key messages
  • Having experience in technical writing

  • Being able to convert complex technical knowledge into appealing trainings/presentations without loss of information
  • Good interpersonal and intercultural skills
  • Team worker with proven ability to work independently
  • Very good command of written and verbal communication in English (German or any other language is a plus)
