Job Description

  • Job Title: Technical Account Manager
  • Job Type: Permanent
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week
  • Job Location: Field based, but will need to be located within  Coventry area.

Main Purpose of Role

  • Act as the key Technical liaison point between the client and the SGS Global Key Account Manager (GKAM) to ensure the accounts run smoothly and SGS understands the direction of the client to enable appropriate services to be implemented. (Key clients predominantly being faced are within the Softlines, textiles and apparel sector). 
  • The Client Project Co-ordinator will support and build relationships between the client and SGS across SBUs.
  • Softlines and Hardlines testing and due diligence projects.
  • Global Coordination of Inspection programs.
  • Global Coordination of Technical Audit programs.

Key Accountabilities

·    Liaise and co-ordinate a range of technical enquiries between the client and SGS affiliates. 

·    Present an efficient work process to facilitate the supply of information requested by the client in the prescribed time scales so that all expectations of the contract are delivered.

·    To understand the requirements of the client and communicate these requirements effectively to SGS and the GKAM to ensure the level of service given by SGS meets the clients’ expectations.

·    To be a proactive member of the client’s team and input into process improvements so that the Client Project Co-ordinator remains a valuable member of that team.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Knowledge and Interest of textiles/clothing via education or work experience.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of computer literacy (word documents, excel spreadsheets, MS office suite).

Desirable

  • Understanding of textile testing and ability to read and understand test reports.
  • Knowledge of REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals).

Experience

Essential

  • Must be able to demonstrate good track record of effective customer interaction/service
  • Demonstrates good project and time management from working on numerous projects/enquiries at the same time.
