Job Description

Reporting to the Regional MD, Francophone West, and Central Africa, you will responsible for generating sales leads and driving revenue through prospecting, acquiring, developing, expanding business leads to achieve short- and long-term revenue and profit growth.

More specifically, you will:

  • In conjunction with the business & regional strategy, identify, develop and implement new opportunities in existing or new markets to grow the business for assigned region including.
  • Participate in the go-no go decision for new projects/markets in co-operation with local management.
  • Build a strong pipeline of relevant opportunities to deliver against sales targets and ensure KPI's are met.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of our product by working closely with regional, country and local representatives and your peers.
  • Continuously manage customer satisfaction and follow through on opportunities to cross-sell.
  • Develop and maintain a proficient understanding of SGS's offerings as well as competitor's offerings.
  • Support local marketing programs for brand development, market awareness, market positioning and market demand.
  • Develop local team(s) & leaders ensuring that resources are made available for growth.
  • Develop and communicate strategies to establish partnerships and business relationships to market products and services.
  • Support management & operations in dealing with negotiations, bids, contract development acquisitions and budgeting.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, finance, operations and legal in the development and implementation of strategies, plans and business models.
  • Network with key players.

Qualifications

  • University or master’s degree preferably a Construction Engineer (BSc) or equivalent.
  • 5-8 years’ technical / business development experience in the infrastructure sector. 
  • Practical experience with large Infrastructure projects (ideally roads & highways, railways or ports), preferably as a project manager and a strong personal network.
  • Basic understanding of NDT, construction supervision and testing methods.
  • Infrastructure inspection, QA/QC and supply chain management experience is a plus.
  • Fluent in English and French.
