Job Description

SGS is seeking an exceptional entry-level Test Technician to join our Testing Services team in the Aurora, CO facility.

SGS offers tailor-made engine and vehicle testing services through advanced labs equipped with state-of-the-art testing cells to test under extreme environmental conditions.  As a Test Technician you will have the opportunity to learn from and grow alongside industry-leading experts.  

Being at the forefront of automotive testing and certification, we are actively involved in the worldwide development of new testing methods and standards.  

As a Test Technician you will gain hands-on experience performing routine emissions tests.  Under the direction of a Testing Laboratory Supervisor, you will be responsible for installing engines or vehicles into the test cells, installing instrumentation, and setting up the test control interface.

Must be able to work 2nd shift:  3:00pm-11:30pm

  • Install and set up test articles, fixtures, test equipment, instrumentation, and controls.  
  • Collect data and communicate results to a higher-level Technician, Engineer, or Supervisor, as required.
  • Use specialized test equipment such as vehicle chassis dynamometers and SHEDs 
  • May use statistical methods to identify recurring problems and give detailed reports on defects.
  • May perform calibration and assemble test equipment prior to analysis.
  • Maintain various measurement devices including exhaust emission analyzers
  • Follow quality protocols and report discrepancies to the Supervisor.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance of equipment as assigned.
  • Follow all company Health, Safety and Environmental policies and protocols.
  • Maintain a clean working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent   
  • 0-2 years of experience in Testing Laboratory
  • Knowledge regarding the operation and maintenance of diesel and gasoline vehicles or engines
  • Strong communication skills 

Preferred

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology or related field
  • Certification in Automotive Technology (Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)), Certified Electrician, or certification by Testing Technician Certification Institute

Salary - $18.00-$25.00/hour
