Job Description

  • This position is responsible for performing credit check of SGS new customers, setting up new customers and vendors accounts in Oracle and updating them, EFT set up in Oracle. 
  • Perform credit check of all new customers (based on Creditsave (Equifax) report and trade references), before a credit account is set up in BOSS, to minimize the risk of increased DSO and bad debt.
  • Collect and Review SGS Businesses’ applications for new customer or suppliers, and assure all required information (correct company name, address, payment approver and AP contacts, trade references, manager approval and signature) is provided and it is correct.
  • Liaise with SGS Canada Branch offices, SGS Affiliates and Trade References to verify the customer credit and payment history needed to establish proper payment terms and credit limit of the new accounts.
  • Responsible for the follow up on all new customers and suppliers set up requests until they are approved by the AR Supervisor or AP Supervisor respectively.
  • Create new customer accounts in CA AR Masterfile in Oracle after the request is approved by the AR Supervisor.
  • Create  new Supplier accounts  in CA AP Masterfile  in Oracle after being approved by AP supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Education:  College education or equivalent
  • Experience a minimum of 3 years of previous working experience in similar position is required.
  • Organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential. 
  • Takes high initiative and is independent 
  • Accurate and high volume data entry.
  • Proficient in using various types of computer software (Oracle, Word, Excel, Outlook, BOSS/Oracle is a plus, etc).
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition.
  • Demonstrates the ability to search for credible information, analyzing it and using it to arrive at a conclusion or solution.
