Job Description

The Coating Inspector is the Company’s authorized representative and is to observe the Contractor’s progress and inspect all coating and painting activities in his/her assigned areas in accordance with Company drawings, plans, specifications and the terms of the construction contract or agreement.

SGS is currently looking for a Coating Inspectors for upcoming projects in Northern BC.

Qualifications

  • Large Piping Experience
  • Steep Slope Experience (Preferred)
  • API 1169 - (But not mandatory)
  • Carries a degree/diploma as a civil engineer, technician or technologist; and
  • Carries a minimum NACE Level 1 certification through NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers).
  • Working knowledge of the latest Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Z662 Oil and Gas Pipeline System and CSA Z245.30 Field-Applied External Coatings for Steel Pipeline Systems (Canada only)
  • Preferred NACE Level II certification through NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers).

MANDATORY TRAINING:

  • Health and Safety Awareness Training for Workers and Supervisors (Ontario only)
  • WHMIS/TDG
  • Valid First Aid / CPR
  • Valid Defensive Driving
  • Contractor Safety Orientation
  • Ground Disturbance Level II
  • Excavation Orientation
