Job Description

  • The individual is responsible for learning and performing routine operational and maintenance duties: e.g. equipment maintenance, yard maintenance, maintaining control of storage, etc.
  • Facilitate the pick-up and delivery of materials.
  • Proper maintenance of Company Vehicles such as washing and cleaning.
  • Establishes methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinates work activities with the Manager
  • Keeps the Manager informed of any operational, safety or housekeeping issues, actions taken or required, and situations in the area.
  • Shipping/Receiving as required.
  • During down times may assist operations with various tasks.
  • Ensures full compliance with the company’s Health & Safety and Code of Integrity policies.
  • May be assigned special or ad hoc projects, periodically.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Shop Labour experience preferred, but not required – will train the right motivated applicant
  • Possess and maintain a valid class 5 driver’s license
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
  • Candidates must be proficient in using various types of computer software (Word, Excel. PowerPoint & Outlook).
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
  • Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition.
  • Ability to work well with others & independently.
  • Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Extended hours and shift work may be required from time to time.
  • Travel to other SGS locations or client location may be required from time to time.
