Our Christchurch facility is looking for a Supervisor to help lead its talented NDT team

                                                Supervisor

Due to an internal promotion we are looking for a Supervisor to join and help lead our local team working in our Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) welding inspection and consultancy services facility in Christchurch. 

This is a highly successful NZ and global business that has been well known in the marketplace since the launch in 1976.  Our client base is extensive, and we operate in all major industrial groups from dairy, power generation, oil and gas, chemical, pulp and paper process plants through to constructions, building and light engineering.  

Reporting to the South Island Operations Manager, the primary responsibility is to help supervise our operational team on day to day work activities and schedules.  Assisting the Managers also with identifying new business strategies and opportunities for improvements. The Supervisor will be working alongside the team in carrying out welding inspections and training of any new team members or trainees where needed.

This is a well regarded team who are very experienced. The team are comprised of inspectors, technicians and engineers and provide consultancy services to assist our clients with their technical challenges and maintenance.  This involves carrying out welding inspections in accordance with relevant codes and standards to ensure our client requirements are met with testing done on a variety of products and components covering: metals, plastics, construction and building materials.

 

Qualifications

If you have the below qualities we are interested to hear from you:

  •  A minimum of five years practical work experience in NDT industry practises
  • NDT Level II certifications such as: Radiographic, Ultrasonic Testing, Magnetice Particle Testing
  • Able to use computers and technology efficiently
  • Current drivers licence
  • Site safety knowledge
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience would be an advantage

It would be advantageous to have IANZ signatory status, and the company will support someone to gain further NDT skills, experience and qualifications.
