Job Description

Our Ruakaka, Northland facility is looking to boost its team of casual operators due to business growth.

We are looking for responsible and reliable Operators to join the team, to be available to be called to work on a casual basis as and when required.  The Operators are Wharf Attendants needed to cover various berth locations in the Ruakaka/Whangarei area.

The Operators role is to assist with product transfer to and from vessels.  Tanker loading and discharging operations involve the loading and discharging of Crude Oil and fuel.  The work involves manual handling and will involve working outside in all weather conditions on a rostered basis. 

We need an Operator that will follow all operating procedures thoroughly and safely. You need to be prepared to be flexible, available to work a variety of possible workdays, weekends and available after hours.  Due to the working hours and the need to be available on short notice, ideally Operators will need to be situated within 20km of Ruakaka.

  • Demonstrated skill in following operating procedures including strict health and safety requirements.   
  • Good verbal communication and able to maintain accurate written records.
  • Current drivers’ licence.
  • Pass a drug screening process.
  • Good listening and communication skills.
  • A genuine interest in creating value through your relationships with your team and clients.

Additional Information

As these roles are considered border workers, applicants successfully appointed will be required to agree to a Covid-19 vaccination and participate in regular Covid-19 tests.
