Job Description

Job Title:  Service Engineer

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Job Location: Flexible (UK)

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000

As a Service Engineer you will be responsible for working on Vapour Recovery Units (VRU) at various locations within the UK and Republic of Ireland. You will be required to service VRU in accordance with SGS procedures ensuring they remain in an optimum working condition.

Working as Service Engineer, you will communicate with customers to arrange service visits, provide status reports to customers on VRU operation/condition, carry out Routine Preventative Maintenance to detect and correct developing faults before they reach the point where they cause unplanned downtime and unnecessary breakdowns.

Applications will be considered from candidates with the following experience: routine testing of including Electrical Circuits, Mechanical Equipment, Control Systems, Instrumentation (electrical & pneumatic), Programmable Logic Controllers, Actuators (electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic), valves and pumps.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Electrical, Instrumentation & Control System knowledge
  • Working knowledge of instrument calibration procedures
  • Experience working on electrical systems and ideally have a background in control engineering, instrumentation or process systems.
  • Ability to fault-find and effectively solve problems in a logical way
  • GCSE’s in relevant subjects (A-C), or equivalent
  • ONC, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • Computer literate; particularly Excel and Word
  • Full UK Driving Licence
