SGS Alaska Division has been the leading full-service environmental laboratory in Alaska for over 50 years.  We understand the importance of employing qualified, enthusiastic, resourceful people.  Our Alaska operation supports a 60-person staff.  SGS Anchorage is a full service, ISO accredited laboratory analyzing a variety of sample types for a wide range of environmental pollutants, and our clients range from private homeowners to international engineering firms and Alaska Native Corporations.

We have a position for a full-time, permanent Project Manager to act as a client advocate in guiding the successful completion of the clients’ project from the quote request to the final invoice. This position will report to the Client Services Manager and work closely with the Client Service team and laboratory staff. The Project Manager acts as the liaison between the client and the laboratory and ensures project success for all parties involved.

Responsibilities

  • You are the key point of contact between the client and the laboratory.  Client needs can change quickly.  You can easily shift gears and get information to the laboratory and back to the client in a timely manner.  You are a strong collaborator and relationship builder, and you understand that staff and client meetings are critical to relaying all information related to a project.
  • You understand and can clearly explain all aspects of the client project, including rationale, regulations, and different methods employed by the client and laboratory to produce results.  Your knowledge of environmental regulations and analytical methodology will be an asset.
  • You promote a positive working atmosphere and represent SGS in a positive manner inside and outside of the laboratory.
  • You are ready to take on additional duties if needed to ensure that SGS can fulfill its mission of quality, service, and growth.

Qualifications

We would strongly encourage you to apply if you possess the following qualifications:

  • You completed a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • You have experience working in customer service.
  • You understand environmental data and/or EPA methodology.
  • You are an exceptional communicator both verbally and in writing.
  • You are highly organized with an ability to multi-task and shift gears quickly, when needed.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
