Job Description

As a member of the EHS management team, you will be responsible for the supervision and control of laboratory production of the Alexandria laboratory and its staff during evening shift.

  • Responsible for managing staff performance , production, prioritising of workload, health and safety and the delivery of results to clients by the expected due dates with compliance to KPI’s.
  • Responsible for the growth and retention of existing clients and working with the Production Manager, client services, sales and management team to continue delivering excellent customer service.
  • Ensure KPIs of the team are met and results are delivered on time
  • Take responsibility for expediting urgent samples, assigning work and checking progress of team 
  • Drive and support various sections in the lab including the Sample Log-in, Inorganics, Metals, Organics, Hygiene and Customer Service.
  • Troubleshooting issues and providing solutions to operations and customers.  

At this time the role is rostered for an evening shift (4pm to 12am) to accomodate COVID-19 requirements.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications in Science (or relevant experience)

  • Relevant experience in Environmental soil, water and air testing. 

  • Strong analytical background, especially with Organics Instrumentation

  • Range of Instrumentation (GC, GC-MS, GC-ECD, GC-MS P&T, GC-FID, ICP-OES and MS, DA, Mercury analyser).

  • Demonstrated ability to provide strong leadership to the team 

  • Be a safety champion and demonstrating this by taking a lead.
