Job Description

SGS is accredited as a Notified Body for the European Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSIs), an Assessment Body (AsBo) for the European Common Safety Method (CSM-RA) and an Independent Safety Assessor (ISA). We are looking for a Signalling Expert to join our Transportation team in Madrid:

Functionalities:

  • Provide support and expert advice on signalling systems and safety engineering services to SGS colleagues globally to support the business development activities and will be required to lead the preparation of technical and commercial proposals related to Signaling.

  • Drive and technical support notification activities of SGS for Signalling.

  • Responsible for the assessment of Signaling projects TSI, AsBo, and ISA.

  • Take an active role in some key operational sales activities, such as taking part in key sales meeting, attending selected business fairs, ensuring Key account management tasks for selected accounts.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Degree M.Sc or B.Sc in Engineering

  • Fluent in English & Spanish both writing and conversational

Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years’ work experience in the signaling field , experience in signaling design is desirable

  • Knowledge of the signaling market and ability to develop and create business opportunities, established network within signalling system suppliers, rolling stock manufacturers, railway operators, AESF will be desirable

  • Deep knowledge of railway standards and EU Legislation in general.

  • Deep knowledge of Technical Specification for Interoperability for “Control-Command and Signalling”

  • Deep knowledge of the Common Safety Method (CSM) on Risk Evaluation and Assessment

  • Mandatory deep expertise on signaling technology: European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS / ETCS).

  • Expertise in Communication Based Train Control (CBTC), automatic train supervision (ATS) are desirable

  • Expertise in Automatic Train protection and Operation

  • Specialist in RAMS
