The Senior Staff DSP Engineer serves as a senior technical leader responsible for defining and advancing Digital Signal Processing (DSP) solutions across complex programs and technical initiatives. This position provides strategic technical direction, leads the resolution of highly complex engineering challenges, and helps establish DSP methodologies, architectures, and best practices across the organization.

The candidate will have expert-level knowledge of Digital Signal Processing concepts, including RF communications, synchronization, and high-speed ADC and DAC systems, with demonstrated experience translating advanced DSP concepts into practical hardware solutions.

The candidate will have extensive experience developing and implementing DSP algorithms in hardware, including:

• Algorithm prototyping and analysis using MATLAB or similar tools.
• Determining precision, dynamic range, performance, and implementation tradeoffs.
• Algorithm validation using hardware co-simulation, C/C++ bit-true modeling, or similar techniques.
• FPGA and/or ASIC implementation using Verilog, VHDL, or comparable hardware description languages.
• Evaluating system architectures and conducting complex technical trade studies.
• Identifying and introducing advanced DSP technologies, methodologies, and design approaches.

The Senior Staff DSP Engineer will provide technical leadership throughout all phases of the engineering lifecycle, including system architecture, requirements development, algorithm exploration, trade studies, design reviews, implementation, integration, laboratory verification, troubleshooting, and delivery.

This position is expected to influence DSP technical direction across multiple projects and programs, ensuring engineering solutions align with broader technical and business objectives. The Senior Staff DSP Engineer will identify significant technical risks and opportunities, recommend solutions to engineering and organizational leadership, and provide technical guidance on critical program and technology decisions.

The candidate will serve as a technical mentor to DSP engineers and other senior technical contributors, providing technical oversight, developing engineering capabilities, and helping establish consistent DSP engineering practices across the organization.

The candidate must demonstrate the ability to operate with a high degree of technical independence and judgment while collaborating effectively with engineering leadership, program teams, customers, and other technical disciplines.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, including the ability to communicate complex technical concepts, recommendations, risks, and tradeoffs to technical teams, customers, program leadership, and senior management.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline with at least 12 years of relevant engineering experience; Master's degree preferred.
• Extensive experience in Digital Signal Processing architecture, algorithm development, implementation, integration, and verification.
• Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership on complex DSP systems and/or across multiple engineering programs.
• Demonstrated ability to independently resolve highly complex technical challenges and make decisions with significant program or organizational impact.
• Experience developing and implementing DSP algorithms in FPGA and/or ASIC hardware.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical trade studies, design reviews, architecture decisions, and technical risk resolution.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers and providing technical leadership and oversight to engineering teams.
• Ability to influence technical decisions across engineering disciplines, programs, and organizational leadership.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with customers and senior leadership.

Active TS security clearance is a plus.

Compensation: Base salary range is $180,000-230,000/year, depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical, dental and vision insurance plans, along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for a year-end bonus. SEAKR offers a variety of paid leave, such as vacation, sick, bereavement, and FMLA.
