Job Description

The Manager, Quality Assurance is responsible for managing the SEAKR Quality Assurance organization which ensures the Quality System is implemented and customer and program specific quality requirements are being met. The Manager is also responsible for management, supervision and mentoring of the Hardware and Software Quality Assurance Engineers, Quality Engineering Managers, Quality Inspection Supervisors, and Quality Control Analyst. This is a full-time exempt position in which the work is performed under limited supervision by the Vice President of Product Assurance and is evaluated on results obtained.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide back up to the Vice President, Product Assurance and MRB & FRB Chair when that person is not available
  • Overall responsibility for the Quality Assurance Department
  • Manages, supervises, hires and mentors members of the Quality Assurance Department
  • Assesses and reviews quality assurance personnel performance
  • Provides support, training, mentoring and guidance to quality assurance functions
  • Establishes department goals based on company priorities and needs  
  • Lead implementation of organization projects and processes to ensure overall quality is continually improving, and that non-conformances are evaluated for trends.  Identify and implement the need for corrective and preventative actions.
  • Champions site compliances to AS9100 and customer audits.
  • Communicates, educates, trains and coaches customers, suppliers, and internal personnel regarding Quality policies, processes and procedures
  • Evaluates Customer requirements and proposals for compliance to SEAKR best practices

 

Other Duties/Responsibilities:

·       Follow and review SEAKR SEPs and SEWIs as documented in SEAKRs quality system

·       Follow SEAKR rules and regulations as documented in the SEAKR Employee Handbook and applicable operating procedures

·       Participates in or prepares a variety of special projects at the direction of the management of the company

·       Performs other duties as assigned

 

Supervisory Duties:

·       Reviews and evaluates performance, recommending salary increases and/or disciplinary action for direct reports

·       Responsible for ensuring all department personnel are properly trained to perform their assigned duties

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

·       Knowledge of quality systems

·       Working knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action tool such as CauseMap, Fishbone, 5 Whys, etc.

·       Knowledge of SEAKR’s overall practices, processes, procedures and instructions

·       Knowledge of company’s operations as they relate to ensuring customer quality expectations and requirements are met

·       Knowledge of a variety of software applications including MS Word, MS Excel and general E-Mail concepts

·       Ability to successfully operate as part of a multi-functional team, including engineering, program management, and manufacturing

·       Ability to work with various customer representatives on quality and quality control issues

·       Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports

·       Ability to organize and prioritize tasks

·       Ability to work on more than one task at a time

·       Ability to train organization and company employees on quality functions

·       Ability to review and provide compliance information on customer generated requirements

·       Ability to review company engineering documentation to ensure company and customer quality requirements are being met

·       Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines

·       Ability to make decisions in accordance with company policies and practices

·       Ability to effectively analyze situations and recommend improvements

·       Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

·       Ability to put in overtime as needed

 

Education or Formal Training 

·       Bachelor’s degree is required

·       Formal training in quality system is preferred.

 

Experience 

·       At least 10 years of experience in quality systems and measurement and test systems detailed knowledge of high reliability / aerospace workmanship and manufacturing are required

 

Additional Information

Compensation: Base salary range is $115,000 - $150,000, depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical, dental and vision insurance plans, along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for a year-end bonus. SEAKR offers a variety of paid leave, such as vacation, sick, bereavement, and FMLA.
