Job Description

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for all aspects of shipping and receiving for SEAKR Engineering. This is a full-time non-exempt position in which the work is performed under general supervision by the Manager, Property Management and is evaluated on results obtained.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Implements all aspects of shipping and receiving.  Ensures that all shipping requests and receipts are processed in a timely manner, normally within one day.
  • Shipping includes physical packaging of items to be shipped, creation of packing slip and/or Government shipper (eg., DD1149, DD250, etc), and acquisition of an RMA/PO when applicable.
  • Maintains awareness of specific contractual shipping requirements.
  • Coordinate all specific shipping requirements with freight carriers. 
  • Receiving includes verification of freight bill confirming delivery to correct company or location specified.  Ensure no obvious damage has occurred in transit.  Secure materials from their packaging according the SEAKR procedures.  In the case of discrepancies, notifies Buyer and places items on the trouble shelf.
  • Receiving includes but is not limited to materials, customer-owned property and SEAKR capital assets.
  • Coordinates with Receiving Inspection in the resolution of any receipts. 
  • Coordinates with Accounting in the resolution of billing issues and discrepancies. 

Other Duties/Responsibilities:

·       Provide weekly activity report to Property Manager.

·       Work closely with quality engineering and program management on shipments.

·       Maintain relationships with all freight carrier representatives. 

·       Performs other duties as assigned.

Education or Formal Training:  (Minimum level of education or formal training)

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience:  (Minimum level of experience)

  • 1-2 years’ experience in shipping

·       Perform work in a professional office and lab environment with a moderate level of noise, withstand outside environmental conditions when traveling building to building, and work near chemical hazards.

  • Compensation: Base pay range is $18-22/hour depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical, dental and vision insurance plans, along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for a year-end bonus. SEAKR offers a variety of paid leave, such as vacation, sick, bereavement, and FMLA.
  • The schedule for this position follows a 9/80 schedule with alternating Fridays off, core hours would be 7am-4:30pm.
