Becoming part of the SEAKR team means that Interns actively participate in real-world assignments!  SEAKR designs, builds and delivers systems for Data Management, Processing, Avionics and Communications for customers around the world.  SEAKR is seeking qualified Undergraduate and Graduate Interns to actively participate in real-world assignments, help solve challenging problems and contribute to the development of the next-generation of space electronics.

SEAKR is seeking a 2023 Manufacturing Engineering summer Intern in Centennial, CO.

Workload for this internship opportunity includes the below:

  • Crimp Tooling Project
    • Under guidance and direction of manufacturing engineer, define and organize crimp tooling for use in manufacturing builds. Create table, label tools, identify missing tools.
    • Develop understand of crimp process. Collaborate with various groups and analyze data to define and organize tooling.
  • Pressfit Tooling Project
    • Work with manufacturing engineers to understand process to press a connector into a PCB. Identify a new press to improve quality and efficiency. Order tooling and bring onto manufacturing floor.
    • Develop understanding of pressfit tooling. Work with a budget and research tools to improve process
  • Support general manufacturing engineering duties
    • Learn equipment, design tooling, organize tooling, understand traveler process, perform defect analysis

Start Date: May 22nd, 2023
End Date: August 11th, 2023

  • Relocation Assistance will not be provided for internship participants
  • Internship may lead to future fulltime employment at SEAKR upon successful completion of degree(s)

Qualifications

  • Must be a rising Junior or higher currently pursuing a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering,  or related discipline. Ability to learn technologies quickly and independently
  • Strong computer skills in a PC environment using various business software programs (spreadsheets, word-processing, and databases)
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, follow-up, problem solving and creative thinking skills
  • Familiarity with Quality Control methods, configuration management methods and root cause analysis. 
  • Experience with assembly and test of spacecraft hardware and electronics is highly desirable, but not required.
  • Coursework toward BSEE, BSCE, or similiar.

Additional Information

  • Compensation: Base pay range is $25-28/hour depending on qualifications.
