Job Description

General Purpose:  The Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor is responsible for the direct management and guidance of the Manufacturing Engineering staff, in addition to performing as a Manufacturing Engineer.  This position at SEAKR is an essential part of the group that builds flight electronics for aerospace environments.  This is a full-time exempt position in which the work is performed under limited supervision by the Manager, Manufacturing and is evaluated on results obtained.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

·       Understand soldering of electronics to printed circuit boards and the processing steps required in order to support the Manufacturing team and Manufacturing Engineers.

·       Provide direct supervision of your group in order to ensure their understanding of and adherence to all manufacturing and production operations processes and duties.

·       Lead the effort to analyze and evaluate defect data.  Parse out data to Manufacturing Engineers for further evaluation and corrective action.  Follow up to ensure success.

·       Lead the testing and process development for any new or updated production equipment within the SMT line.

·       Disposition incoming requests for rework and provide direction to ensure proper creation of rework traveler.

·       Analyze and disposition Engineering Change Orders (COs) for effect on manufacturing documentation.  

·       Perform same duties as defined in Manufacturing Engineer job description on as needed basis including but not limited to: DFMs, MRB participation, Tooling Design, Writing Reworks, Supporting Manufacturing Technicians.

Supervisory Duties/Responsibilities:

·       Assign daily tasking, provide technical guidance, and conduct performance appraisals for all direct reports.

·       Develop and maintain a friendly and professional work environment with a strong sense of teamwork and an understanding of our role within the company.

 

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

·       Ability to use AutoCAD or comparable CAD software for tooling design.

·       Ability to program and operate production equipment.

·       Knowledge of electronics assembly including reflow processes and mechanical assembly.

·       Ability to problem solve in high reliability environment.

Education or Formal Training

·       Bachelor’s degree in applicable Engineering discipline.

Experience

·       5+ years of experience in a high reliability production environment.

 

Additional Information

Compensation: Base salary range is $80,000 - $115,000, depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical, dental and vision insurance plans, along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for a year-end bonus. SEAKR offers a variety of paid leave, such as vacation, sick, bereavement, and FMLA.
