Job Description

The Radiation Effects Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing the radiation control plan for various programs.  This includes understanding component applications within a design and then determining, by test or data review, if each component meets program objectives and customer requirements.  The Radiation Effects Intern, under the guidance of a Radiation Effects Analyst, will assist in the development of software, databases, and spreadsheets. These products will assist the Radiation Effects Engineering team in analysis of the data from radiation tests and applying it to the program designs.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

IFS Coordination

Python integration

Spreadsheet analysis

Other Duties/Responsibilities:

Learn the basics of the space radiation environment

Understand the radiation test results and how they apply to the space environment.

Follow SEAKR rules and regulations as documented in the SEAKR Employee Handbook and applicable operating procedures.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Ability to make decisions in accordance with company policies and practices.

Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports.

Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.

Ability to establish good rapport with members of management and other employees.

Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.

Ability to proofread a variety of documents and to pay attention to detail.

Ability to put in overtime as needed.

Work towards a Bachelor’s degree with emphasis
