Delivery Lead/Development Manager - Sovereign Cloud Delivery

  • Full-time

Job Description

What you bring

You are a people-focused technical leader with deep experience in SAP cloud operations and a track record of building and managing high-performing DevOps teams. You lead with strategic thinking and emotional intelligence, driving business transformation and developing high-performing teams through project management expertise.

  • Proven experience leading technical teams in collaborative, cross-cultural environments — with strong skills in resource planning, mentoring, and employee engagement.
  • A strong background operating SAP solutions in a public cloud environment — with working knowledge of DevOps principles, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes, and service level agreement (SLA) management.
  • Experience in customer-facing technical roles — including escalation handling, proactive risk identification, and the ability to represent SAP confidently to customers and partners.

What you'll build

Within the Sovereign Cloud Delivery organization, we are responsible for operating a multitude of SAP solutions according to local compliance requirements. The local team in the Netherlands will be executing the day-2-day operations tasks to provide a best-in-class service to our customers, ensure adherence to the SLA’s and continuously optimize the TCO. You will first hire the local team according to the regulations defined by the Dutch authorities. Afterwards you will be managing the respective team to drive and optimize the business outcome. You will closely cooperate with your counterparts in other countries and the Global Delivery team and support customer facing activities as required.

  • Hire and grow a local DevOps Engineering team in line with Dutch regulatory requirements — building a high-performance, accountable culture from day one.
  • Drive day-to-day operations, ensuring best-in-class service delivery, SLA adherence, and continuous total cost of ownership (TCO) optimisation.
  • Set and monitor team key performance indicators (KPIs) — including availability, time to recovery (TTR), and other agreed service metrics.
  • Lead by example, hold accountability for annual goals, and drive a continuous improvement mindset across the team.
  • Represent SAP in customer and partner engagements, and align closely with global delivery teams and counterparts in other countries.

Where you belong

The Sovereign Cloud Delivery organisation operates a diverse portfolio of SAP solutions across the Netherlands in compliance with local regulatory requirements. Based at SAP's headquarters in 's-Hertogenbosch, this role requires daily office presence to support effective team collaboration and operational oversight. You will work closely with global delivery peers across multiple countries, combining local accountability with an international working environment.

Due to the potentially classified nature of our work, your willingness is required to subject yourself to a governmental security clearance process.
