What you bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science or related fields, proficiency in Python and at least one other programming or scripting language, experience in one or multiple machine learning frameworks or agentic AI frameworks, good understanding of statistical methods and model quality assessment, strong oral and written communication skills in English, general interest in applied machine learning or agentic AI to solve business problems, and experience working with complex tabular data.

• Nice to have qualifications include experience with explainability and interpretability of machine learning models, experience with Deep Learning architectures, knowledge on large scale data analysis with spark, experience with CI/CD frameworks, and experience with MLOps tools.

• Working from either Walldorf or Munich SAP office is required regularly

What you'll build

You will work with a team of data scientists, data, MLOps and AI engineers on ML models and AI Agents at all stages of development, including data exploration, model training, model fine-tuning and optimization, productive deployment, testing and monitoring. You will communicate with stakeholders to understand business processes and model input data, support a high-visibility AI project along experienced data scientists and AI developers, learn about applying data-centric AI development practices, and work with a modern cloud stack like SAP BTP and Hyperscaler offerings.

Our unit leads the enterprise transformation by embedding AI into business processes, powered by high-quality data and next-gen search architecture. We do this by designing, developing and operating AI platforms, custom solutions, and digital assistants that simplify work across SAP and deliver business value. We work in agile, autonomous teams with a culture of trust, creativity, and continuous learning.
