A majority of our funds are used for Education programs across the country whether that is educating children, upgrading schools or providing other necessary aid.

Job Description

What you’ll do:

As a program coordinator, your responsibilities include maintaining the quality of the organization’s programs and overseeing the budget and staff for projects. Assisting in the development and delivery of ongoing programs such as the Education program, Water and Sanitation programs, House building, and Holistic training programs.

  • Skills: team leader, communication, accountability, reporting
  • Assume day-to-day responsibility for the overall coordination and development of the work in India
  • Supervision and coordination of the team (field team and external partners). The duties of this team include:
  • Field Monitoring and Support: Conduct regular backstopping and follow up visits to field education programs, food aid, house building, community planning and workshops and other field activities
  • Materials Development: Prepare, update and/or adapt training and informational materials.
  • Develop tests for new children intake into our programs.
  • Open up computer labs and monitor the proper functioning of the lab: visit the labs on a regular basis, assess teachers and students, and communicate with school principles and district officers.
  • Take responsibility for guiding the development of periodic work plans at the field level, including seasonal work plans and budgets, for field activities of the regenerative farming
  • Work closely with various public sector organizations, and education departments. Explore ways that these institutes can support the implementation of the program
  • Identify avenues to build a talent pipeline for the initiative. Build the team as the program scales-up
  • Liaise with other organizations involved in improving the education sector in Punjab to identify synergistic opportunities
  • Be involved in the development and implementation of program baseline assessment, monitoring, evaluation and impact and other such activities
  • Accountable for compiling field data in a timely manner, and sanitized in accordance with requirements and producing various reports and other documentation in Punjabi and English for the program

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Education or Master’s in education, development or social work
  • Ability to work at and navigate all levels of an organization, driving decisions and direction through influence, including executive and senior business stakeholders
  • Understanding of social and development sector would be a big plus
  • Strong project management skills managing complex, multifaceted projects resulting in measurable successes
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills, interpersonal skills, and a professional presence with the ability to quickly establish personal credibility and demonstrate expertise
  • Proven ability of building programs from scratch and taking them to scale
  • Experienced in translating ideas into impactful and actionable proposals
  • Able and ready to commute or stay in villages
  • Able to write reports
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point
  • Can communicate in Punjabi and read/write English
