Russ Hay's The Bicycle Shop has been voted one of BC's best bike shops 3 years running (Canadian Cyclist). We've got two locations, are family owned and operated and have been an LBS for over 40 years. We also enjoy about 310 days of sun every year and LOVE that we never have to shovel rain. As the saying goes we aren't in the bike business we are in the Customer Service business. It's tough out there. Local Bike Shops have to work hard to provide an experience. You need to be a big part of that experience. Duties would include but not be limited to:

• Inventory and special order management
• Staff and service scheduling
• Working within budgets and managing supplies and equipment
• Overseeing shop building projects
• Ensuring maintenance of mechanical standards
• Ensuring a safe and functional work environment
• Assisting where needed with our charitable events: Bikes For Kids, Ambriss Memorial Ride, Denis Memorial Ride

At a minimum you need to posses the following:

• Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task
• You MUST BE a bicycle mechanic
• You MUST have a minimum of 5 years experience in a bicycle shop
• Comfortable using all common shop tools, including power tools and tapping/threading tools
• Experience placing orders and managing inventory in a bike shop
• Experience working within budgets
• 5 years of bicycle shop experience (yup, we put that in here twice for a reason)
• You need to be up to date on the latest bikes - this stuff is getting complex fast.
• Fluent in bike shop talk especially road and mountain bike components and repair
