Job Description
Parts Counterperson
Rush Truck Centres of Canada is looking for a Parts Counterperson for our Kingston location. This is a permanent full-time position. This position will participate in a rotating shift schedule including days, afternoons and Saturdays.
Location: 750 Dalton Avenue, Kingston
Reporting to the General Manager/Parts Manager, this position is responsible for selling parts to all available customers, over the retail counter, through the shop, or on the telephone.
Responsibilities:
- Sell and invoice parts to wholesale and retail counter customers.
- Assist customers in selecting required parts, suggest companion requirements, offer specials, and ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
- Provide technicians with parts accurately and efficiently.
- Answer telephones and provide quotes to customers.
- Source parts from aftermarket vendors.
- Periodically audit inventory to verify inventory quantities are correct.
- Comply with all relevant Health and Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Expected to have a positive attitude and promote a healthy work environment.
- Assist in other areas of Parts Department as required; cores, shipping and receiving.
- Cross trained in Service to cover afternoon shift.
- Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- Completion of Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
- Parts Technician Certificate is an asset.
- Previous experience in Heavy Truck or Automotive Industry is preferred/asset.
- Rotating shift schedule including days, afternoons and Saturdays.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong customer focus.
- Good communication skills.
- Good computer skills – working knowledge and experience with CDK/ADP software is an asset.
- Criminal Record Check, valid driver’s license and Drivers Abstract.
