Maintenance & Engineering Manager
Job Description
Our client is a fully accredited supplier of pork and bacon goods and they are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Maintenance and Engineering Manager to become part of their ever expanding team.
Duties:
- To manage and fully develop the Maintenance and Engineering function in accordance with business requirements
- Co-ordination and supervision of all Engineering and Maintenance personnel including improvement in response times to breakdowns and completion of all personnel/payroll paperwork within the Department
- To be hands-on in maintenance and engineering’s as and when required in order to fulfil business requirements
- Co-ordination of service and planned maintenance of all machinery on site to ensure the safe working of all employees allied to maximising efficiencies
- Organisation and supervision of all Engineering personnel to maintain agreed standard servicing levels and cover for breakdowns over agreed timescales
- Minimisation of downtime through machinery efficiencies
- Supervision and monitoring of capital projects
- Management, co-ordination and supervision of all external contractors in accordance with site policies and audit / legal requirements
- Monitoring and control budgets
- Supervision of site maintenance to comply with internal and customer audits
- Completion of all necessary paperwork and reports relating to the Engineering Department as required by Senior Management
- Servicing of all machinery to agreed levels according to maintenance schedules
- Fault finding and repair of machinery following breakdown on a cover/call out basis with minimum disruption to production
- Ensuring safe operation of all factory plant
- Prevention of “dangerous practices” and responsibility for reporting and resolving any health and safety issues
- Active participation and attendance at all Company Health & Safety Meetings
- Housekeeping of Engineering Plant Rooms
- Other projects and responsibilities where appropriate in the running of the site
Location: Lodge farm industrial estate, NN5 (Easily commutable on public transport)
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum (Dependent on experience)
Working hours: 8am – 5pm (Must be flexible)
About you:
- Engineering qualifications in Mechanical and Electrical, including 16th / 17th Edition
- CAPEX management experience
- Strong people management experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Food Manufacturing
- Ability to demonstrate experience of departmental budget control
- Strong IT skills – competent user of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of ‘Navision’ is an advantage, but not essential
- Ability to communicate at all levels, both written and verbal with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure without supervision and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work on own initiative and take initiative

- Auto enrollment pension – Employer 3% - Employee – 2% (Goes up in April 2019)
