Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Manchester, United Kingdom. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, developing, and optimising mechanical systems and components. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet customer requirements and drive continuous improvement across our product range.

  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems using 3D CAD tools, ensuring precision and adherence to technical specifications
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and assembly instructions
  • Conduct mechanical analysis and simulations to validate designs and optimise performance
  • Manage and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) structures, ensuring accuracy and traceability throughout the product lifecycle
  • Collaborate with colleagues across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to support product development and improvement initiatives
  • Analyse customer requirements and translate them into practical engineering solutions
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance product quality and manufacturability
  • Support the preparation of technical proposals and documentation for customer presentations
  • Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, regulations, and best practices Contribute to problem-solving activities and identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency improvements

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (such as CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar tools)
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and managing BOM structures
  • Strong technical documentation and drawing skills
  • Solid understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong people skills and ability to work effectively within collaborative teams
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with mechanical simulation and finite element analysis (FEA) software Knowledge of relevant engineering standards and industry regulations
  • Project management experience or exposure
  • Experience in the pneumatic, hydraulic, or actuator industries
  •  Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies Professional engineering qualification or chartership (CEng, IEng)
