We are currently recruiting for a media and communications specialist to lead our media team.

Job Description

  • Develop content for various formats, including press releases, adverts, email marketing, blog posts etc.
  • Develop and curate high-quality content for the organization's website, ensuring it is up-to-date, relevant, and engaging.
  • Collaborate with the graphics designer to create visually appealing and brand-consistent graphics, infographics, and multimedia content.
  • Manage and maintain the organization's social media pages, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Develop and implement social media strategies to increase brand awareness, engagement, and reach.
  • Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across all social media platforms.
  • Monitor and analyze social media performance metrics to optimize content and strategy.
  • Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries on social media in a timely and professional manner.
  • Plan and execute social media and traditional media marketing campaigns to promote events, programs, and initiatives.
  • Develop marketing materials, including brochures, newsletters, and promotional videos.
  • Coordinate with external media outlets to secure coverage and placements for the organization's news and events.
  • Track and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Design and implement a media communications strategy for the business.
  • Represent the company at conferences and events to enhance the organization's visibility and reputation.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in digital and traditional marketing.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall strategy and plans for the company’s growth.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in communications, social media management, and content development.
  • Proven track record of managing social media accounts and developing engaging content.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design principles and experience working with designers.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work in a growing organisation.
  • Self-motivated and result oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
