Our client, due to expansion, is recruiting for the post of a Head Baker/Pastry Chef.

Job Description

  • The candidate would oversee the pastry production and bakery; the individual would also be involved in developing new pastry products. 

 



Qualifications

  • Professional certificate in pastry, nutrition, sanitation and food preparation
  • Must be an expert at cake and pastry creation. 
  • At least 2 years experience in working in a similar role
  • Must be creative - (knowledge of the ingredients and creativity are required in order to successfully play with flavors).
  • Baked goods  must be appealing to  the eye - ( creativity must  be used to decorate baked goods in an attractive manner.)
  • Good leading skills
  • Good sense of taste and smell- ( These two senses must be extremely developed as the pastery chef  must smell and taste the ingredients as well as the product in different stages in order to ensure the best quality for the finished product)
  • Proper cooking technique and coordination
  • organizing skills
  • Passion for sweet and savory baked goods
  • FThe ideal candidate must be energetic excited, intelligent and comfortable in a dynamic work environment
  • The candidate must possess leadership and people management skills, a desire to help build a business
