Job Description

Summary/Objective

The Engineering Manager is responsible for ensuring the optimal operations of the Roll-Lift USA, Inc. engineering department and the planning of activities. This role provides complete solutions in engineered heavy lifting, rigging, and transport for including but not limited to the petrochemical, power, civil, and marine industries.

  1. Manages and supervises the employees of the Roll-Lift USA and Roll Group Canada engineering departments
  2. Facilitates communication among clients/customers and engineers, ensuring specifications, budgets, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood
  3. Support senior management and operations teams through technical project execution
  4. Create engineering drawings and review in-house drawings developed by the engineering team
  5. Proficient with OSHA, ASME and applicable international requirements
  6. Proficient in equipment, materials & techniques used to execute heavy lift & heavy transportation projects
  7. When applicable, analyze the design and detail of steel structures, weldments & tools, concrete structures, steel structures, and soils for suitability of project execution
  8. Manage work assignments and workforce planning

Additional Information

Supervisory Responsibility

This position oversees the daily workflow of the Americas based engineering department. The Engineering Manager will assist in the recruitment, interview, and selection of new engineering staff and provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position ineligible for overtime, without prior approval. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM including a 1-hour lunch break. Remote work is allowed up to 40% of the time, pending an approved schedule by the role’s supervisor.

 

Travel

Travel for this position is not required, but the ability to travel within the USA, Canada and LATAM is preferred.
