Job Description

Overall purpose

The Operations Manager ensures and improves the performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability of departmental and organizational operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies, by implementing the right processes and practices across the Middle East organization. The specific duties of an Operations Manager include formulating strategy, improving performance, procuring material and resources and securing compliance, and implement best practices across all levels.

Key responsibilities and key result area's

  • Project ownership and responsible for the delivery of safe, efficient, and profitable operational execution of the region’s activity and the Project Management thereof. 
  • Formulate and improve operational management systems, processes and best practices.
  • Help the organization’s processes remain legally compliant.
  • Examine financial data and use them to improve profitability.
  • Manage budgets and forecasts for projects, as well as operational expenditure.
  • Review and administer/oversee contracts related to clients and suppliers.
  • Regional equipment planning and forecasting.
  • Advise subcontracting vs capex of strategically aligned equipment.
  • Manage subcontractor and stakeholder base, for cost efficiency and quality as well as maintaining the key relationships within this network.
  • Perform quality controls and monitor production KPIs.
  • Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity and liaise with management.  
  • Maintain customers relations, increase the sales where possible and support the sales department.
  • Lead and further develop the department, both in terms of strategy and human capital (right person right seat).
  • Identify short and long-term company goals and translate these to department goals.
  • Responsible for coaching and development of team members and regular check ins to ensure employees are doing well and department/company goals are achieved.
  • Perform department activities in line with authorization matrix.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned by manager or supervisor.

Qualifications

  • College degree in business administration/ management/ engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the Heavy Lifting industry.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in a similar position
