    Job Description

    We are hiring a Senior Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our dynamic and growing HR team. The role will be responsible for administration of the company's multiple payrolls and administration of employee benefits programs in the US. The role may be based in our Boston, Chicago, or Detroit office, working in a hybrid environment. 

    This position requires payroll and benefit preparation, processing, and reporting duties with adherence to state and federal regulations. 

    Responsibilities

    Payroll

    • Process semi-monthly and bi-weekly, multi-state payroll for approximately 200 exempt and non-exempt employees using ADP WorkforceNow.
    • Prepare payroll inputs, such as employee status changes, benefits deductions, taxable fringe benefits, and garnishments
    • Maintain employee-related payroll changes in a timely manner, such as hires, transfers, terminations, and pay adjustments
    • Participate in month-end and year-end payroll closing tasks.
    • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
    • Continuously review local, state and federal laws to ensure systems and processes are compliant, including statutory reporting and tax filing requirements
    • Liaison with the Payroll and Benefits manager as a point of contact to address colleague questions regarding pay

    Benefits

    • Maintain all employee-related benefits changes in a timely manner, such as hires, life events, terminations, and COBRA enrollments
    • Process all types of employee leaves with third party administrators where necessary
    • Intake and review benefit invoices from benefits vendors
    • Prepare benefit reports for HR and Management, as well as for regulatory requirements (e.g., ACA Reporting, EEO, PCORI, 5500)
    • Liaison with the Payroll and Benefits manager as a point of contact to address colleague questions regarding benefits, directing colleagues to third party administrators as appropriate
    • Work with candidates and new hires to deliver benefits presentations and help them to understand Roland Berger benefits offerings

    Administrative

    • Manage and update HRIS, vendor and corporate systems in a timely manner
    • Onboard and maintain employee records
    • Assist in Compensation process.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or related work experience
    • 5+ years  of experience with full cycle multi-state payroll administration for 200+ employee population
    • 3-5 years of experience with US benefits administrations
    • Experience using ADP or another major payroll processor
    • Knowledge of processing payroll in Canada and Mexico is a plus
    • Knowledge of administering Canada and Mexico benefits is a plus
    • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation
    • Strong knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Excellent organizational skills, multitask and attention to detail
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
