    Job Description

    The Project Accounting Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project accounting and project management while providing insights to support strategic decision-making. This role requires a detail-oriented and analytical professional with a strong understanding of project accounting principles and practices within a services industry. 

    Key Responsibilities: 

    • Oversee and manage the financial aspects of multiple projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. 

    • Monitor project expenditures and revenues, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and company policies. 

    • Prepare and review project profitability analysis. 

    • Ensure project compliance with management guidelines. 

    • Collaborate with project managers to develop and maintain project budgets. 

    • Monitor project performance and connect with project managers on budget variances. 

    • Manage the billing process, including the preparation and submission of client invoices. 

    • Track and reconcile project billings, collections, and accounts receivable, managing an efficient working capital. 

    • Address client inquiries related to billing and financial matters. 

    • Collaborate with project managers, finance team members, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project management. 

    • Manage the project accounting team and setting expectations and performance evaluations of the team. 

    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and financial discipline within the project teams. 

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 

    • 5+ years of experience in project accounting, preferably within the consulting industry. 

    • Strong knowledge of project accounting principles, practices, and software (e.g., ERP systems, accounting software). 

    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. 

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. 

    • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in reporting and analysis. 

    • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
