The Roland Berger DNA

Roland Berger is one of the top international strategic consulting firms in the world, with 51 offices and 3,500 colleagues worldwide. Our young, dynamic and fast-growing office in the Zuidas district of Amsterdam employs around 150 colleagues.

We are proud of the close-knit culture within our Amsterdam office. We are creative, dedicated, ambitious, entrepreneurial and passionate – and at the same time social, energetic, open-minded and respectful. What we offer

Your success is our success. We offer plenty of opportunities for development, (inter)national training courses and a mentor to support your development. You are also offered an individual trajectory with a coach, tailored to you and your personal development plans. You can follow an MBA at a leading business school, (temporarily) transfer to another Roland Berger office or intern at another company ("externship"). You are the architect of your career.

In addition, we offer excellent benefits, including 30 days of vacation, an electric lease car, a non-contributory pension and a contribution to your health insurance. You can also make use of our life coach and take part in (virtual) yoga and meditation classes, for example.

What you will be doing

As a Senior Consultant at Roland Berger focusing on circularity, you will get the opportunity to work with leading organizations across industries and make a tangible impact on sustainability outcomes. Your role within the team will be crucial, as you take on the responsibility in expanding our expertise and footprint in the circularity sector and leading projects toward sustainable success.

You will collaborate closely with founding partner Arnoud van der Slot, serving both national and international clients on projects centered around circularity, specifically on waste management and recycling initiatives. You will engage in creative problem-solving, exploring new technologies, business models, and strategies to optimize resource use and minimize waste.

You will discover abundant opportunities for advancing your professional growth as you navigate through challenging and rewarding projects. The projects primarily take place in an international setting, as the project teams at this moment are predominantly international. With increasing global awareness of environmental issues, there's a growing demand for circularity expertise and there is a steady stream of diverse projects in this dynamic field.

At Roland Berger we differentiate ourselves by listening carefully to our clients and working intensively with them on tailor-made solutions. The clientele for each project differs, ranging from industrial enterprises, Private Equity firms, and technology suppliers to policymakers all focusing on circularity, in particular waste management and recycling. By establishing strong partnerships and engaging closely with senior leadership at top-tier and renowned companies within the circularity industry, you can exert a significant influence and drive substantial change.

As a Senior Consultant at Roland Berger you will:

  • Take the lead for modules in larger projects, and complete project management of smaller projects (typically leading three to five consultants), with a specific focus on circularity.
  • Coach and develop the consultants in your project teams.
  • Have direct client contact and lead presentations during client meetings.
  • Work closely with industry experts at Roland Berger.
  • Contribute to Roland Berger’s knowledge development by capturing insights and drawing lessons from client work.
  • Participate in office-wide projects (e.g. in-depth studies on current topics) that further develop Roland Berger or its thinking in a specific area or sector.

Do you recognize yourself in the following qualifications, competencies and skills?

  • You have completed an academic university education (i.e. WO).
  • You have between four and eight years of experience in strategy consulting, specifically concentrating on circularity, and/or in a strategic/operational role at a company within the circularity industry, with prior involvement in strategic project-based work and/or waste management and/or recycling initiatives being highly advantageous.
