In 2026, Rodeo FX opened its newest studio in Bengaluru, expanding our global network across Canada, the United States, Europe and India. Located in International Tech Park Bengaluru, the new 40,000-square-foot studio is designed to accommodate up to 400 artists and supports both Rodeo FX and Mikros Animation.
Our Bengaluru team is fully integrated into Rodeo FX's global pipeline, collaborating with artists, supervisors and production teams across our international studios on incredible projects.

Job Description
The Lighting Supervisor is responsible for the artistic and technical quality of all renders delivered by the Lighting team, in alignment with the project’s creative vision. Working closely with VFX, CG, and Compositing Supervisors as well as Production and other departments, they define a methodical, realistic, and innovative approach to meet client expectations. They foster a collaborative and focused work environment, guide artists, oversee strategic decisions, support talent development, and help advance departmental processes and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Creative Quality
- Translate project direction into clear, achievable, and inspiring creative briefs.
- Work closely with VFX, CG, and Compositing Supervisors to maintain visual consistency.
- Guide artists throughout shot execution, participate actively in dailies, and adapt approaches based on client feedback.
- Approve lighting deliveries while ensuring their artistic integrity and seamless integration into sequences.
Technical Quality
- Ensure all outputs follow studio technical standards (naming, optimization, clean renders).
- Contribute to the development, testing, and documentation of Houdini lighting tools in collaboration with Pipeline and HOD.
- Identify and resolve technical issues faced by the team, escalating when necessary.
- Document workflows and project-specific methods to ensure clarity and repeatability.
Leadership & Communication
- Lead and motivate the lighting team with clarity, empathy, and rigor.
- Participate in artist casting, shot assignments, and workload management alongside Production.
- Maintain effective communication across artists, supervision, production, and other departments.
- Act swiftly in case of underperformance, clarify expectations, and support artist development.
Project Management
- Help plan sequence timelines, track deliveries, and assess workload progress.
- Ensure deadlines are met and alert Production of any risks or bottlenecks.
- Participate in intermediate reviews, post mortems, and team retrospectives.
- Contribute to task prioritization and adjust delivery strategies based on real-time progress.
Workflow Strategies
- Define lighting approaches per project based on creative, technical, and budgetary constraints.
- Recommend workflow improvements and help implement them effectively.
- Contribute to standardizing and evolving lighting tools within Houdini.
- Ensure pipeline consistency across departments and adapt methodologies as needed.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in high-end visual effects for feature film and/or episodic productions, including significant experience as a Lighting Lead, Lighting Supervisor, or equivalent.
- Advanced expertise in Houdini lighting, with strong knowledge of Karma and/or Arnold.
- Strong portfolio of photoreal lighting work demonstrating artistic judgement, composition, color, and seamless integration into final shots.
- Proven experience leading Lighting artists, reviewing work, providing clear creative and technical direction, and delivering to production schedules.
- Deep understanding of the VFX production pipeline and CG–Compositing integration.
- Advanced knowledge of Universal Scene Description (USD).
- Familiarity with Nuke and production tracking tools such as Flow Production Tracking (ShotGrid) or equivalent.
- Strong leadership skills with a strategic mindset and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong professional English communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams across multiple studios and time zones.
- Experience contributing to lighting tool development or pipeline innovation is an asset.
- Experience participating in client reviews or presentations is an asset.
