Job Description

Roadtrip Nation is looking for an enthusiastic, lover of all things design Associate Creative Director to drive meaningful work in a collaborative environment.

Reporting to the Co-founder/Creative Director, this role will touch every project within the organization (product, web development, marketing, education, etc. to ensure consistency with the company’s visual design and aesthetic).

Your role will travel in three different directions from, managing the design/UX/copy teams, to driving the creative review process, and contributing as a web designer. The ideal candidate should have solid background in web design and creative direction working within a diverse team.

This is a full time position based out of our office in Costa Mesa, CA.


Responsibilities:

• Provides leadership and management of the design, UX, & copy teams to assure that all projects are delivered on-brand and on-time with the appropriate internal approvals

• Ensures that Roadtrip Nation’s experience-oriented design solutions are on-brand and consistent with its visual aesthetic

• Ability to lead the design team with mobile/app design

• Collaborates with the Creative Director to define and evolve Roadtrip Nation’s experience design through the creation, updating and implementation of the organization’s brand and style guides

• Be the first line of defense for the Roadtrip Nation brand

• Provides editorial direction and approves work on behalf of the Creative Director

• Ability to lead interactions with business development, marketing, sales and product departments

• Keep yourself and team up to date on the latest technologies and experience design trends and how they can be implemented within the creative work

• Monitors and drives the team to utilize the best and latest methods/tools to keep our brand competitive

• Works with copywriters to conceive effective behavioral and motivational messaging

• Participates as a working web designer, contributing designs and owning projects

• Consults with Creative Director in planning and execution of projects and workload to ensure appropriate staffing, outcomes are established, and workflow is optimized

• Manages the team’s creative output to meet business objectives

o Plans projects, sets goals, delegates plans, and prioritizes and manages timelines

o Translates creative ideas into actionable plans

• Assists with staff performance management, career development, employee relations and related HR matters in accordance with policy and procedures

 • Oversee simultaneous projects from inception to completion, reviewing project plans, designs, and deliverables

- Motivated: Self-starter who is able to respond at a lightening pace to problems with measured and insightful solutions

- Collaborative Communicator: Ability to respectfully articulate different points of views with substantiating support, and respond positively to feedback—both with internal teams and external partners
