  • Rituals Job Family: Data & Process Management
  • Department: Central Head Office

Job Description

As a Senior Data Specialist, you play a key role in ensuring that Rituals’ product master data is complete, reliable, and fit for business-critical decisions. You support the development of creative new ideas, concepts, and products by securing high-quality product data in our Rituals Master Database (STEP) and by driving improvements across data processes, governance, and reporting.

Beyond maintaining data, you act as a senior data owner, problem-solver, and trusted business partner. You are a self-starter who takes ownership of complex topics, quickly identifies issues and dependencies, and drives solutions with limited guidance. You combine a strong eye for data quality with the ability to translate analysis into practical improvements for the business. You are highly confident in Excel and comfortable working with incomplete or conflicting data, making clear decisions and communicating proactively with stakeholders.

For 40 hours per week, you will:

  • Ensure accurate and timely product master data in STEP across all phases of the innovation process.
  • Own complex data topics and projects, for example, in pricing, packaging, data governance, or related process improvements.
  • Safeguard and improve product data quality by identifying structural issues, analyzing root causes, and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • Perform non-standard analyses and translate findings into clear actions, recommendations, and improvements.
  • Take ownership of product master data within your area and act as a trusted expert for stakeholders across the business.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with Innovation, IT, and business teams to improve data quality, reporting, and ways of working.
  • Contribute to the further development of scalable data governance, controls, and validation processes.
  • Act as a data ambassador, promoting the value of high-quality, reliable data and helping raise the maturity of data ownership within the organization.
  • Support broader team priorities, while independently managing your own work, stakeholder expectations, and project deliverables.

JOIN OUR TEAM

You will be part of the Global Innovation team, responsible for product innovations, category management, and product development. Within the NPD Data Team, we ensure uniform, accurate, and trusted product master data across the enterprise.

As a Senior Data Specialist, you will play an important role in the team’s development from reactive data entry towards stronger data ownership, validation, governance, and continuous improvement. You will not only manage data but also help improve how the business works with data.

Please note: this role requires a strong onsite presence at our Amsterdam CHO. We are working from the office 80% of our time

Qualifications

You are analytical, structured, and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership. You are comfortable in a dynamic environment and know how to bring clarity to complex or incomplete data. You enjoy improving processes, working across teams, and taking the lead on more challenging topics.

The key competencies we are looking for are:

  • Self-starter – You take initiative, work independently, and step into new topics or projects quickly.
  • Problem solver – You analyze issues, identify root causes, and drive practical improvements.
  • Strong stakeholder manager – You communicate clearly, align others, and act confidently across functions.
  • Detail-oriented & structured – You spot inconsistencies easily and maintain a high standard of data quality.
  • Expert mindset – You build trust through strong judgment, reliability, and knowledge of your area.

On top of this, you bring:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree (for example in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field).
  • Several years of relevant experience in data management, master data, project management, or innovation-related processes.
  • Strong experience with project management, data quality, data ownership, and structured ways of working.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including:
  • Complex formulas (e.g. XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, nested IFs)
  • Data validation and consistency checks
  • Pivot tables and reporting
  • Managing and structuring large datasets
  • Building clear, reusable analyses and controls
  • The ability to work with incomplete, conflicting, or changing information and still make sound decisions.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Experience with master data management, NPD, or a fast-paced retail or product environment.
  • Experience with STEP is a plus, but not a must if you have strong system affinity and learn new tools quickly.
