Job Description

This position is responsible for forecasting costs for potential field projects under the guidance of a Senior Estimator, Estimating Supervisor, and/or Regional Estimating Manager.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 Reviews specification information and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.

 Organizes bid components to ensure accuracy and completeness.

 Performs takeoffs on blueprints (i.e., circuiting and scaling drawings, counting devices and equipment, etc).

 Consults with clients, vendors, foremen/superintendents, and project managers to discuss and formulate estimates.

 Confers with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.

 Finalizes and follows up on completed bids.

 Attends job site walk throughs with Senior Estimator and/or Estimating Supervisor as necessary.

 Achieves $4,000,000/year in awarded jobs.

 Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

 A Bachelor's degree in Engineering and one to two years of electrical estimating experience

COMPUTER SKILLS:

 Must be proficient in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).

 Experience in Accubid is preferred.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

 Strong mathematical skills are required.

 Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
