Job Description

We are searching for a highly skilled and motivated System Engineer with a strong focus on Windows environments to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our Windows-based systems and infrastructure to ensure high levels of availability and security. This role involves working closely with other IT professionals to develop scalable and robust solutions that support our business objectives.

What you will do:

  • Design, install, configure, and maintain Windows server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Implement and manage virtualization solutions using Hyper-V or similar technologies.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Manage Windows-based applications, ensuring their reliability and performance.
  • Implement and maintain system security measures, including patch management, antivirus solutions, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Collaborate with network engineers to ensure seamless integration and efficient operation of network and system infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Participate in the development of IT policies and procedures to ensure that best practices are followed.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and junior staff members.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in system engineering and Windows environments.

Qualifications

Must haves:

  • Active Secret Clearance 
  • Experience as a System Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on Windows environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019) and core services such as Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, preferably Hyper-V.
  • Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS) and integrating them with Windows environments is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of system security principles and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, MCSA) are highly desirable.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office 
  • Constantly work with computers and other information technology equipment
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas in a classroom style format, may stand at a podium for long periods of time
