Job Description

Our Business Development Group is looking for a talented and experienced Sales and Acquisitions Manager to develop and manage relationships with various clients, and particularly across customer sets within the Department of Defense (DOD) in general, and the Special Operations Command in particular.  We expect this individual to have a keen understanding and experience in Defense Acquisition within a complex environment.  In this role you will become familiar with Ridgeline’s capabilities and work with current and future clients to understand and help solve their most pressing challenges.

 

What you will do:

  • Identifies, develops, reports on, and executes a new business pipeline in assigned client sets
  • Develop strategies to identify Defense and Federal acquisition projects, timelines, and future requirements in order to bring business into the company
  • Meets with current and future clients and teammates to develop market insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, acquisition timing, and contract vehicle choices; guides clients to appropriate vehicles
  • Partners with leadership of the Business Development Group, and key executive leaders, to identify overall strategic planning and prioritization of assigned pursuits/capture activities
  • Works closely with our technical experts to create go-to-market strategies for new products and services
  • Continuously monitors the market to keep track of competitor developments and their impact on market share, working closely with the Group’s Business Intelligence Lead
  • Authors and/or co-authors white papers, proposals, RFI responses, meeting materials, and other business development related documents and materials
  • Partners with Finance to appropriately price product and service offerings
  • Participates in other business development and/or program operations efforts
  • Manages programs and develops strategies to bring a program from identification, initiation to completion through the Program Management Life Cycle.

 

What you’ll accomplish in the first six months:

  • Come up to speed on Ridgeline’s capabilities and prepare a list of potential new clients that can benefit from Ridgeline products and services
  • Identify, qualify, and actively work three to five opportunities that can be closed in the following six months
  • Use your expertise in Federal/DoD Acquisition Process to develop a plan of action by the BD Group to better target client sets and gain business for the organization

Qualifications

Must-haves:

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience OR Military Service
  • Deep subject matter expertise in technical and operational domains relevant to Ridgeline and our customer set
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience working DoD Programs and education/experience as a DoD Acquisitions Professional
  • Previous work and understanding of the Special Forces Community and particularly units within the United States Special Operations Command

 

Nice-to-haves:

  • Business development, capture management, or proposal development experience
  • Technical program management experience and/or deep understanding in technical domains such as software development, system engineering, or network engineering
  • Previous work and understanding of the Intelligence Community

 

  Physical Requirements and Travel:

  • May travel up to and between 5% to 10% of the time
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office
  • Constantly work with computers and other office productivity equipment
  • This is not a remote role, but there is flexibility for partial remote work
