Job Description

We are looking for a QA Team Lead to help assess software quality through manual and automated testing. You will be responsible for leading a team as well as helping test custom software.

In this role, you should have a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills. If you are also competent in executing test cases and are passionate about quality, we’d like to meet you.

Ultimately, you will ensure that our products, applications, and systems work correctly.

What you will do:

  • Review and analyze system specifications
  • Collaborate with Software Test Engineers to develop effective strategies and test plans
  • Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results
  • Evaluate product code according to specifications
  • Create logs to document testing phases and defects
  • Report bugs and errors to development teams
  • Help troubleshoot issues
  • Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Work with other departments within the company to identify testing needs
  • Performance reviews for your team
  • Conduct weekly 1 on 1’s with each member of your team
  • What you’ll accomplish in the first six months:
  • Prioritize and balance testing workloads on the team
  • Establish a rapport with your teammates
  • Identify and evaluate key performance metrics for your team

Qualifications

Must Haves:

  • Proven experience in Leadership or Management role – 1-year minimum
  • Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester or similar role – 5 years minimum
  • Experience in project management and QA methodology
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus
  • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
  • Working knowledge of test management software (e.g. TestRail, Zephyr) and SQL
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
  • Strong organizational skills

Nice to haves:

  • 1+ years of experience in leadership or management role
  • Located in the Northern Virginia area and are flexible to come into the office up to 1 day per week
  • Experience with TestRail software
  • Automation testing experience
  • Hands-on hardware testing experience
