Job Description

We are looking for a DoD Skillbridge candidate interested in learning and growing in the logistics and supply chain management field. The ideal candidate will be able to complete a 5-6-month program with our company, and the goal is to convert this candidate into a full-time employee.

Your responsibilities include supporting all supply chain procedures, from acquisition, asset tagging, data entry into an asset management system, property use, redistribution, warehousing, physical inventory, disposition, coordinating shipments and deliveries, and managing shipping documentation. To be successful in this role, you should be well-organized and understand the order fulfillment cycle.

Ultimately, you will ensure our internal & external customers receive requested items in an accurate, timely, and cost-effective.

What you will do:

  • Utilize order management system to execute accurate purchases
  • Receive purchases and catalog items in Asset Management System
  • Physically tag received assets for visual identification of ownership
  • Coordinate with other departments for asset transfer of purchased items
  • Maintain chain of custody paperwork and digital documentation of property transfer
  • Maintain storage areas for efficient space utilization
  • Oversee the levels of our warehouse stock and place orders as needed
  • Maintain updated records of orders, suppliers, and customer
  • Learn the fundamentals of US Government property reporting from a contractor perspective
  • Plan shipments based on product availability and customer requests
  • Track orders to ensure timely deliveries
  • Prepare shipping documents (like invoices, purchase orders, and bills of lading)
  • Provide information to customers about the order status.

What you will accomplish within the first six months on the job:

  • Develop a keen understanding of the critical support role that the logistics and supply chain management function provides to private industry for day to day operations
  • Develop a keen understanding of ‘cradle to grave’ asset management as it pertains to private industry
  • Develop an understanding of the role private industry logistics and supply chain management functions play in the success or failure of contracted US Government efforts

 

Qualifications

Must Haves:

  • The ideal candidate will be E6 and below
  • Active Duty Military with command pre-approval to participate in the SkillBridge program up to 180 days from military transition
  • Work experience as an Automated Logistics Specialist or equivalent Military Occupational Specialty (92A, 0431, B740, 2G0X1) Logistics Administrator, Warehouse Administrator, or similar role
  • Basic skills with Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to accomplish assigned tasks without direct supervision

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with Jira & Confluence
  • Familiarity with the fundamentals of asset management software
  • Familiarity with Apple Inc. OS and iOS

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly work with computers and other office productivity equipment, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.  Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations—the ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Frequently moves boxes weighing up to 50  pounds across the office for various needs.
