Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager who will work in a cross-team and cross-function role responsible for leading technical team(s) in planning, managing, and delivering technology projects. The Senior Project  Manager is the liaison between the customer-facing Program Manager and the internally facing technical teams.

 

What you will do

Lead from the Front

You will lead a team of Project Managers supporting existing customer programs.  You will help facilitate cross-team and cross-organization communications.

 

Projecting planning

You will be the catalyst to keeping all of our projects on track to meet deadlines to deliver for our customers. The planning is going to be part of the process where you are ensuring we are providing everything from conducting Preliminary Design Reviews, Critical Design Reviews, Overall Delivery Timelines, and also identifying potential risks.

 

Project management

You will be working with various team members to include developing close relationships with our Program Managers to manage projects effectively. From leading team huddles, set expectations, monitored project progress, and reported and kept the teams on pace to meet goals.

 

Project delivery

The moment you hope to get to once the project gets started is the delivery. During this process, you will be developing testing plans collaborating with testers, and getting feedback for improvements and adjustments. Additionally, you will be rolling out the documentation to cover down on network diagrams, functional diagrams, O&M, and Monitoring plans to include coordination with our Network Security Ops Center for acceptance.

 

What you will accomplish in the first six months on the job:

 

  • Establish consistent process project management and planning.
  • Gain buy-in from key stakeholders and begin implementation on a pilot or enterprise basis.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Experience in Project Management or related technical field required
  • Demonstrated understanding of Project Management processes, strategies, and methods
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing rising talent in the technology department
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines in these areas for others
  • Excellent communication skills and the desire to form consensus across stakeholders
  • Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and managing teams
  • Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality
  • Managerial experience applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles
  • Top Secret or higher security clearance

 

It would be nice if you have:

  • Project Management Institute Project Management Professional Certification (PMI-PMP)
  • Understanding of SDLC Principals, ITIL and/or IT Service Management Framework
  • Experience with Atlassian Tools for management of agile projects
