Job Description
The Public Sector Proposal Content Manager is responsible for leading the development of compelling and persuasive content for proposals targeting public sector clients. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather information, craft narratives, and create tailored content that effectively communicates the organization's value proposition and solutions to public sector challenges. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of public sector procurement processes.
Responsibilities:
- Content Strategy Development: Develop content strategies aligned with the organization's goals and tailored to public sector procurement requirements and evaluation criteria.
- Proposal Content Creation: Lead the development of high-quality written content for proposals, including executive summaries, technical approaches, solution descriptions, resumes, and past performance narratives.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with subject matter experts, solution architects, business development teams, and proposal coordinators to gather relevant information and insights for proposal content development.
- Content Tailoring: Customize content to address the specific needs, priorities, and evaluation criteria of public sector clients, demonstrating a clear understanding of their challenges, goals, and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge Management: Maintain a repository of reusable proposal content, past performance examples, best practices, and lessons learned to inform future proposal development efforts.
- Proposal Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve the proposal development process, implementing best practices, templates, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Training and Support: Provide guidance, training, and support to team members involved in proposal development, helping to build their skills and capabilities in content creation and management.
- Thought Leadership: Position the organization as a thought leader in public sector issues by developing insightful and authoritative content that addresses key challenges and trends in the sector.
- Content Performance Analysis: Track and analyze the performance of content initiatives, using data and analytics to assess effectiveness, identify opportunities for improvement, and inform future content strategies.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in content management and public sector communications, continually seeking opportunities to enhance content quality and relevance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in proposal content management, preferably in the public sector or government contracting environment
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and persuasive content for diverse audiences
- Strong understanding of public sector procurement processes, including request for proposal (RFP) requirements, evaluation criteria, and compliance considerations
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and translate technical concepts into compelling narratives.
- Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work under tight deadlines
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, business administration, or a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of government contracting regulations and compliance standards is a plus
