Job Description
As a Senior Data Governance Consultant for our Govern by Design (GbD) practice, you will work with clients across both public and private sectors. You will also work closely with many teams across our company on complex, advanced data projects, supporting strategy, implementation, and oversight of enterprise data governance initiatives. This role requires subject matter expertise in healthcare and engagement efforts, including data literacy and curriculum/program development. Ideal candidates will have the right balance of technical disciplines and experiences complemented with business acumen to forge cross-functional relationships. The candidate will be an Individual Contributor; they are expected to contribute to tactical execution of the practice, including building, promoting, and implementing internal policies, standards, procedures, and content.
Other responsibilities include:
- Identifying governance and policy needs, risks, and solutions
- Leading Data Maturity and/or Data Literacy Assessments
- Producing presentations/deliverables to variety of audiences, including C-suite and executives
- Demonstrating at least one way to measure the effectiveness of a governance initiative
- Demonstrating understanding of at least one (or more) governance frameworks
- Creating documentation tailored to the client
- Navigating different tools and technologies, while being able to speak to governance needs and approaches for each area
- Developing and maintaining a document management strategy for any type of project or client, such as Data Governance Framework, Strategy, and Roadmap
- Working with priority business and technical stakeholders to understand and identify data processes, needs and requirements
- Capturing and reporting on KPI/Metrics to demonstrate value to clients
- Assisting the GbD team in implementing and operationalizing data governance across customers organization
- Serving as trusted governance advisor to clients and colleagues
- Participating in weekly standups, planning, and operational meetings
- Meeting with prospective and current clients as well as sales teams
- Clearly communicating information and data governance concepts, including complex technical topics to a wide audience of both technical and non-technical personnel
- Working with clients to ensure that data related business requirements for leveraging, retaining, and protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated, and well understood
- Providing subject matter expert support in Data Governance, including controls and ongoing monitoring
Qualifications
- 3- 5 years of experience running highly complex data or tech engagements and deep expertise in broad range of topics such as:
- Facilitating strategic alignment of business data priorities across groups including senior leadership
- Facilitating the development of data quality standards across groups
- Facilitating the education and ongoing engagement of data resources and data literacy across groups
- Providing subject matter expertise with respect to data privacy and security
- Facilitating framework or methodology for deriving measurable outcomes from data-driven initiatives and data sharing practice
- Experience with one or more health data standards such as the Gravity Project, USCDI, FHIR, HL7, and TEFCA is a must
- Experience writing data governance related policies
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in enterprise data management, data governance, and data literacy principles and methodologies
- Dataplex experience
- Demonstrated experience in cross collaborating with multiple teams
- Demonstrated business administration and process knowledge including establishing metrics and KPIs
- Ability to effectively challenge all levels of an organization and offer value-add solutions to meet data governance objectives
- Experience leading efforts and delivering on measurable goals
- Comfortable working across a wide range of project sizes including complex projects that cross multiple organizational units or, in some cases, organizations
- Previous exposure to data integration and management in a big data environment
- Knowledge of current security, privacy, risk, frameworks, and technologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and maintain composure when under pressure from customers
- Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas
- Provide subject matter expert support in Data Governance, including controls and ongoing monitoring
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and priorities
- Experience implementing technology related to Data Catalog and Metadata Management
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
