Job Description

The Resource Planning Manager (RPM) is responsible for driving successful outcomes for our clients in support of Resultant’s mission and vision. The RPM would collaborate with delivery leadership to ensure deployment of resources to fulfill the client’s intended outcomes, and the highest and best use of our talent. In addition, the RPM would leverage their understanding of Resultant verticals to positively influence resourcing decisions with the goal of balancing workload, optimizing utilization, promoting flexibility, and providing broad-based experiences and developmental opportunities while balancing firm and client needs. The RPM would also serve as a trusted advisor to leaders focused on accelerating the development of our team members.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties and responsibilities are critical to the role.  Other actions, duties, and responsibilities may be required, as needed.

  • Manage the inputs and outputs of the Resultant Resource Forecast. Inputs include our pipeline, a resource request process, etc.
  • Utilization Tracking through collaboration with the finance team and delivery leads.
  • Act as formal centralized Trigger to hire for Resultant resourcing needs.
  • Reviewer of Resource Plan templates for standardization and input into the Resource Forecast
  • Support for specific ad hoc resourcing scenarios throughout the organization
  • Create a resource certification and industry experience repository to apply the best resourcing to the right project.
  • Look for improvement opportunities for resourcing as a service to client delivery.

Key Collaborations

The Resource Planning Manager must be integrated into the organization. Understanding which resources are capable of what contractual obligations for the organization introduces assurance or risk of delivery at scale. Key Collaborators include:

  • Delivery Leaders to support them as they seek to make sure their teams are fully utilized
  • Sales to understand upcoming resourcing needs against proper confidence levels,
  • Finance to review utilization data for weekly improvements,
  • Partner with HR/Talent/Ops to understand areas of improvement around processes impacting our resources.
  • Partner with executive team on Strategy to ensure the right resourcing to bring about our strategy as an organization.

Key Performance Indicators

The Resource Management Coordinator will be measured against a few critical company-wide metrics and unique metrics for this role. They include:

  • Resultant’s Utilization against Goals
  • Resource Request Process cycle times- is the process sufficient to meet the client needs
  • Pipeline Indicator for Trigger to Hire Timeliness

Qualifications

Some of the qualifications and skills we are expecting include the following:

  • Strong experience in team management and effective resource planning.
  • Good knowledge of Workforce Management tools. An in-depth understanding of manual forecasting methods and formulas. Strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills to work at all levels.
  • Previous examples of where you have managed projects end-to-end.
  • The ability to explain complex information in an easy to understand manner and generate “buy-in” from key stakeholders to further your department.
