Primary Purpose
Develop member focused product offerings and best practice operations that deliver outstanding service to members and employers whilst managing our risks and regulatory obligations.
Your Purpose
To improve the claims experience for Rest members and their beneficiaries and to oversee the management of member’s death and disability claims.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
- Work to continuously improve the claims experience for members and their beneficiaries and to ensure that any outsource providers are delivering service to Rest’s required standards.
- Represent Rest in discussions with Rest’s vendors and drive discussions on service delivery with Rest’s vendors.
- Oversee the management of Rest members’ death and disability claims to ensure the efficient review and handling of death benefit distributions, accepted insurance claims, declined, disputed or litigated claims.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in both administration and life insurance processes and service, working to improve customer experience.
- Provide feedback to the Service Solutions Manager regarding any operational issues relating to policy wording to assist in the maintenance of the Rest insurance policies.
- Support the Service Solutions Manager with other tasks, as required from time to time.
Qualifications
- RG146 in Superannuation (or willingness to obtain)
Required experience, understanding or credentials including:
- At least 5 years’ experience with a super fund, insurer, administrator, adviser or legal background dealing with superannuation claims.
- Advanced customer service skills, including the ability to manage emotionally charged situations effectively.
- The ability to think differently and solve problems.
- Solid understanding of super and insurance legislation and practice.
- Experience representing organisations when dealing with vendors.
- Thorough knowledge of group insurance policies, definitions, eligibility criteria, terms and conditions
- Experience in claims assessment.
- Ability to liaise with key stakeholders.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in an environment requiring attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
