About the Job

The Head of Architecture role is accountable for providing leadership to the wider organisation to ensure that the business objectives are enabled by the Enterprise Architecture and the Technology Strategy. This role will evangelise the Architecture principles and vision through a direct and indirect team that will own business and process architecture, applications architecture and technical architecture.

  • Accountable for the maintenance of the architecture strategy at Rest across all architecture domains
  • Accountable for ensuring Architecture Governance processes and frameworks are embedded across the enterprise
  • Accountable for communicating and partnering with the whole of Rest to ensure enterprise-wide understanding and compliance with Rest’s architecture frameworks and standards
  • Lead a team to provide technology solutions that balance delivery of business outcomes against architecture standards, technology strategy and security.
  • Accountable for defining and maintaining Architectural repositories, assets and ways of working
  • Responsible for creating Conceptual architectures to articulate architectural vision
  • Ensuring that systems are architected to be performant, resilient and secure through the effective application of architectural best practices
  • Liaising with key stakeholders to quantify and communicate the impacts, trade-offs, risks, costs, benefits and opportunities of technology solutions
  • Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships to ensure that the architecture practice continues to be valued across the enterprise

Qualifications

About You:

Qualifications:

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or related field

Architecture Credentials:

  • Minimum of 10 years as a leader in the Architecture field
  • Strong background in technology domains across Cloud, Security, Digital and Data
  • Experience in development and implementation of architecture frameworks like TOGAF
  • Essential business domain experience in financial services, preferably superannuation, 5 years
  • Proven experience in applying analytical skill & conceptual thinking to Architecture planning across a range of capabilities and technologies
  • Experience in implementing and supporting an Architecture operating model within Agile delivery environments

Leadership

  • Ability to articulate a technology vision and transformation strategy
  • Develop people, skills in coaching, mentoring, and teaching on the job. Identify and recruit talent, including identifying the right people for the capabilities and skillset reqd.
  • Ability to build a strong team culture based on trust, respect, collaboration and fun and to engender confidence and manage senior relationships across Business and Technology
  • Develop cooperative and constructive working relationships with peers
  • Ability to handle complaints, resolve conflicts and negotiate with others
