Job Description

Job Title: Senior Automation Engineer – Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript)

Location: Bengaluru (Hybrid)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer with strong experience in Playwright and hands‑on expertise in JavaScript or TypeScript. The ideal candidate will lead automation initiatives, contribute to test strategy, streamline CI/CD automation practices, and collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams. Experience in ERP or manufacturing domain environments will be an added advantage.

This is a hybrid role based in Bengaluru, offering the flexibility to balance both in‑office collaboration and remote productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust automation test suites using Playwright with JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Lead automation planning, framework enhancements, and architectural decisions.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and QA teams to ensure high‑quality delivery.
  • Implement, optimize, and maintain automated test execution pipelines within CI/CD systems.
  • Perform root‑cause analysis for defects and drive test automation best practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to scaling automation across teams.
  • Work on end‑to‑end test coverage for web applications; ERP or manufacturing workflows is a plus.
  • Ensure documentation, reporting, and communication of testing activities and results.

Qualifications

  • 7–9 years of overall experience in software testing, with strong focus on automation.
  • Hands‑on expertise with Playwright (mandatory).
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Solid understanding of automation frameworks, debugging, and test design principles.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
  • Good understanding of REST APIs and API automation.
  • Ability to work in agile development environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Experience in ERP, manufacturing, or supply chain systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Exposure to performance testing or security testing tools.
